This virtual course is designed for a new court clerk. The Level I clerk must recognize how the judiciary is set up within the tribe’s government structure and what types of laws govern the court. You will be able to identify how due process applies when accepting, processing, and storing court documents. You can expect this program to help you develop the fundamental skills to become a proficient court clerk.
The topics covered in this course are: The Court, The Court Clerk and Due Process; Best Practices for Customers Service and Ethics; Recognizing and Applying Court Tools; Proper Court Filing Procedures and Case Initiation; Case File Management; and Criminal, Civil and Juvenile Procedures.  This course begins at 9 AM PST.
