This course offers 10 hours of substantive education from an expert Tribal Court Clerk trainer with expansive practical experience, along with an online certification exam.  Certification is valid for 2 years.  Payment online is preferred. The Fundamental Tribal Court Clerk Skills course will explore the foundational aspects of the Court Clerk profession. We will explore professional standards, customer service essentials, and ethics. Court clerks are on the frontline of defending due process and procedural fairness; we will discuss how to preserve the critical rights of court clients. Court clerks must utilize a variety of tools in the performance of daily duties and must develop appropriate habits when forming and protecting case files. We will take you through the maze of case types and how to handle those cases properly. Courtroom Roles and the associated duties offer an opportunity for discussion about your essential functions before, during, and after court hearings. This course will end with a lively session on the differences between legal advice and legal information.
